Location
This spring school will take place from Monday 31st of March to Thursday 2nd of April
at the Université de Toulon, located in La Garde.
Lunches and a social dinner will be taken in charge by the the organization.
The social dinner will take place at the restaurant Les têtes d'ail (22 rue des Bonnetières, Toulon) at 19h30 on Tuesday March 31st.
Access
The courses will be given on the ground floor of the building M, on Monday in M001 (on the right at the entry) and on all subsequent days in M005 (on the left). You can access this building from the bus stops "Avenue de l'Université" and "Campus" as indicated on the following map : access map.
Booking suggestions
We advise participants to book an accomodation in the center of Toulon, or at least at walking distance from the bus lines
U, 103 and 191 (see the local bus webpage).
We can for example suggest the following hotels (non exhaustive, non ordered list; the two first are usually
appreciated, but a little more expensive), which are at walking distance from the train station :
- Grand Hôtel Dauphiné Toulon
- Hôtel Amirauté
- Celenya Hôtel
- Ibis Styles Toulon Centre
- Ibis Budget Toulon Centre
- Little Palace
The social dinner shall take place in the center of Toulon.
Public (not weak) Transport to University
You can purchase bus tickets directly on the bus (1,40 euros, with coins), but we recommand that you purchase a "10 ride ticket" ("carnet de 10 voyages") in a tabac store in the city center for 10 euros.
These tickets can also be used on the
boat buses, in particular to Saint-Mandrier and Les Sablettes, which are two nice destinations for the Thursday afternoon.
From the city center, the main lines to go to the University are
- Line U ("Ligne U" in French) : schedule and map.
One bus every 15mn, circulates from 6h to 22h.
Departure from the center stops (Préfecture maritime, Station maritime, Cours Lafayette, Mayol : these stops are between
the stops "Porte d'Ollioule" and "Bon rencontre" indicated in the schedule)
around
7h55, 8h10 or 8h25 (most practical to reach the University before 9h).
This line runs closer to the harbour than the two following (which run closer to the train station).
For the way back, a departure from Campus around 17h44, 17h59, 18h14...
- Line 103 ("Ligne 103" in French) : schedule and map.
More random, circulates from 6h to 20h, but closer stops to most hotels, and goes to the train station.
One departure from the city stops around 7h55 (from train station, Liberté, Strasbourg, Clémenceau,
Campus Porte d'Italie)
For the way back, a departure from Campus around 17h50 or 19h..
- Line 191 ("Ligne 191" in French) : schedule and map.
More random, circulates from 7h to 19h30, but closer stops to most hotels.
One departure from the city stops around 8h10-8h15 (Liberté, Strasbourg, Clémenceau, Campus Porte d'Italie).
For the way back, a departure from Campus around 17h30 or 18h05..
The bus stop for the university of Toulon is preferably Campus.
The trip takes around 20mn, then there is a 5 to 10mn walk to the building where we will hold the classes. So it is recommended to take a bus at the latest at 8h25 from the center.
